About the Project

Neurodiverse Sport is proud to have collaborated with The FA on an impactful social innovation project aimed at creating a more neuroinclusive football experience. This short video features individuals with lived experience as neurodivergent people, as well as parents and coaches, offering real-world insights and expert advice on how to create inclusive environments for players of all abilities. The video showcases the real experts—those who truly understand the challenges and strengths of neurodivergent athletes—and shares their top tips for neuroinclusive practice, from first football experiences to inclusive environments, coaching and session delivery, and match day considerations.

This collaboration with The FA is a powerful step towards transforming the football landscape, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of neurodivergence, feel welcome, supported, and empowered. The video serves as a vital tool for educating coaches, clubs, and organisations across the UK, helping to break down barriers and promote understanding within the sport.

The potential for future projects from this collaboration with The FA is immense. With The FA’s vast reach across millions of players, coaches, parents, and fans in the UK, this video has the power to influence national change. By embedding neurodiversity awareness into football at all levels, we can create a more inclusive and welcoming sport for neurodivergent individuals. This is just the beginning, and as we continue to work with The FA and other organisations, the impact on the football community will be profound, helping shape a future where football is truly a game for everyone.
