Our Collaboration with British Curling

NdS CEO and former Olympic Rower Caragh McMurtry on the importance of this project…

“We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with British Curling to enhance neuroinclusive practices within their team. The success of our in-person workshop, followed by tailored consultations with coaches, has led to meaningful improvements in team dynamics and athlete support. We’re particularly excited about the development of our app, which aims to transform the coach-athlete relationship by improving communication and personalisation. This collaboration is a significant step towards revolutionising how neurodiversity is supported in curling, and we look forward to seeing its impact extend across sports.”

About the Project

Neurodiverse Sport has had the privilege of working closely with British Curling to enhance neuroinclusive practices within their team. After delivering a highly successful in-person workshop, we were invited to consult with coaches on how they could better support specific athletes, providing tailored strategies to improve team dynamics and ensure that each athlete’s needs are met.

Building on this collaboration, we are also in the beta stage of developing an innovative app which is currently being trialled by the team. The app is designed to enhance the coach-athlete relationship, with a focus on improving communication, personalization, and self-development. The app aims to empower both coaches and athletes by offering tools to better understand individual needs, enhance performance, and foster an environment of growth and support. This collaboration represents an exciting step towards revolutionising how neurodiversity is supported in curling, with the potential for broader applications across sports.
