Paul Burrows

Former sports development officer who worked for a charity providing sporting opportunities for disabled people. He wrote the first iteration of 'Coaching Disabled People', for the National Coaching Foundation. He later joined the police rising to the rank of Superintendent. In policing Paul has undertaken numerous roles not least in the public order policing and firearms arenas. He is the Police Superintendent's Association Reserved Place Representative for Disability and has spoken at numerous conferences and delivered neurodiversity awareness courses to many different audiences and has blooded about his lived experience.

Like many people of his generation he only discovered his diagnosis later in life and has worked tirelessly to support those who have had less than positive experiences going through their own diagnosis journeys be it personally or through the actions of others.

Paul remains a competitive sportsman throughout his life having run 800 and 1500m; played County level hockey and rowed. He won national championship rowing medals and he retains his interest in the sport having recently returned from competing at the World Masters Championships in Brandenburg.
