Paul Burrows:

Keynote: Drawing from his own experiences as an autistic and dyslexic individual, Paul speaks about the importance of understanding and embracing neurodiversity in coaching and organisational systems, as well as the critical role that mental health plays in supporting neurodivergent individuals, particularly where accommodations are lacking.

Paul Burrows’ Bio

Paul is a former sports development officer who worked for a charity providing sporting opportunities for disabled people, and he wrote the first iteration of 'Coaching Disabled People' for the National Coaching Foundation. He later joined the police, rising to the rank of Superintendent, and has held roles in public order policing and firearms. As the Police Superintendent's Association Reserved Place Representative for Disability, Paul has spoken at numerous conferences and delivered neurodiversity awareness courses. He is open about his lived experiences and works tirelessly to support those navigating their own diagnosis journeys.

Autistic and dyslexic, Paul only discovered his neurodivergence later in life and is currently awaiting an ADHD diagnosis. He is committed to helping others who have had negative experiences during their diagnosis processes, whether personally or through the actions of others. Throughout his life, Paul has remained a competitive sportsman, having run 800m and 1500m, played County-level hockey, and rowed, winning national championship rowing medals. He recently competed at the World Masters Championships in Brandenburg, continuing to pursue his passion for sport.
