Daley Jones

Daley Jones is a Detective constable in the Metropolitan police. In April 2021 he was diagnosed with combined ADHD. He was further diagnosed with DCD (Dyspraxia) in March 2022. Since then Daley has founded, and co-chairs the ADHD Alliance, a national support group for Police officers and staff with ADHD, or those who support someone with ADHD.

Daley is passionate about improving the lives of people with neurodivergent conditions both within the police and for people who come into contact with the criminal justice system.

Daley received an OCU Commanders commendation in October 2023 for his work with the ADHD Alliance.

In May 2024 he was awarded first place in the METS Inclusion Diversity and Equality awards in the category of disability, again for his work with the ADHD Alliance.

In September 2024 Daley was recognised as a Neuro Champion at the Celebrating Neurodiversity awards, and won “Disability Advocate of the year” at the National Police Chiefs Council Disability in Policing Conference

Daley has co-written a guidance document called “ADHD in Custody” with the group Neurodiversikey®

He has also been heavily involved in a recent screening pilot for ADHD in the City of London Police.

Daley sits on the MET Neurodiversity working group run by Commander Simon Messinger Lead Responsible Officer for Neurodiversity in the MET.

Daley is a member of the National Police Neurodiversity working group headed by Alexis Poole. This group exists following the wider ND in the CJS report published in July 2021. The group looks at all aspects of neurodiversity in relation to policing.

As of April 2024 Daley is also a committee member of the National Disabled Police Association, advising on national policy and awareness of all matters in relation to neurodiversity.

Daley regularly speaks at events to raise awareness of ADHD and neurodiversity within the criminal justice system. Daley has recently spoken at the ADHD foundation conference, the national emergency services show and the Disability in policing conference on this subject.

Daley delivers regular neurodiversity awareness training. To date he has delivered training to a large proportion of the METS commands and BCU’s as well as external forces BTP, Warwickshire, CTHQ, Merseyside, Kent, Derbyshire, Police Now, and the Home Office policing powers unit.
